ProctorU holds training webinars on state authorization and distance education
ProctorU’s new series of free training webinars are off to a great start, with two successful sessions in the last two months. In July we hosted a webinar featuring Patricia Milner from Colorado State University-Pueblo that touched on the nuance of state authorization for distance education programs.
Thanks to all those who attended and helped make these webinars a great success. More specifically, we would like to thank Dr. William Preston Davis with Northern Virginia Community College (NOVA) and Patricia Milner with Colorado State University-Pueblo.
NOVA is the second largest community college in the nation and their online program has grown along with ProctorU over the last three years. We monitored just under 600 exams for NOVA in the fall of 2010 and that number jumped to over 2,800 tests in the spring of 2012. During that time frame the college’s online program has continued to grow and online proctoring has continued to shape the development of their course design. Proctored exams provide a means to verify student identity and ensure that the work submitted is their own.
Please be sure to join us for our next webinar, which should be scheduled soon. We’ll send out details as soon as they become available.
Many of you present asked for copies of the presentations. Below you will find links to both the presentation slides and a video recordings of both webinars.
