ProctorU has made enormous progress from when we first originated and a busy exam day consisted of 100 exams. Now, we proctor upwards of 10,000 exams in a single day.
With that kind of growth, it’s been crucial that we continuously make strides in technology, innovation and new methods of customer service. The more online courses you teach, the more exams we proctor, and the more we learn new ways to improve our proctoring and identity authentication services.
For instance, our pre-exam start up process has changed over the years to add more steps to catch breaches before they have a chance to occur. We now check under desks, the front of computer screens for sticky notes and smart watches because of instances where test-takers have tried to utilize those in order to cheat.
On the technology side of things, we listened to our partners’ needs for a more scalable, cost-efficient product and developed ProctorU Auto – an automated proctoring software. However, more cost-efficient does not equal sacrificed quality. ProctorU Auto uses the industry’s most advanced AI-based technology to get smarter with each exam proctored. It learns and adapts to test-taker behavior just like humans do.
Our tiers of service range from fully-automated proctoring to fully live online proctoring, with unique combinations of live and automated proctoring in between. Proctoring service level options include:
ProctorU Auto: A fully-automated online exam launch with multi-factor authentication that confirms that the individual who registers for an exam is the student who is taking the exam. During the exam, AI-based suspect behavior incidents (SBI) will be flagged and time-stamped in a violation report immediately following each testing session. An institution will receive a recording of every session’s screencast and webcam video, from beginning to end.
ProctorU Auto with Professional Review: This includes the same features as ProctorU Auto, but a professionally-trained proctor will review the video session within 24 hours of exam completion. Integrity violation notifications and a complete post-exam report are provided from the live proctor review.
ProctorU Auto with Live Launch and Professional Review: A live proctor will launch the exam, guiding the test-taker through the multi-factor authentication process. An institution will receive a recording of every session’s screencast and webcam video, from beginning to end. A professional proctor reviews the session within 24 hours of exam completion. Integrity violation notifications and a complete post-exam report are provided from the live proctor review.
ProctorU Live: A live proctor assists the test-taker throughout the duration of the exam session. The proctor walks the test-taker through the multi-factor authentication process. The session is recorded for the convenience of the instructors, but a live proctor also monitors the exam from start to finish, and will prevent and document academic integrity breaches.
ProctorU Pro: ProctorU Pro is a premium service model that was developed to meet the needs for very high level exams that require enhanced security or a custom proctoring solution or process. ProctorU Pro is typically used for proctoring high stakes certification exams, necessary to obtain a license or certification to perform a specific job.
