Organizations and employers can be confident in ProctorU’s secure, cost-effective alternative to testing centers. ProctorU helps mitigate the cost of cheating by ensuring the integrity and identity of test-takers through a proprietary multi-step approach to identity management and live proctoring.
ProctorU offers an accurate, faster, and more efficient testing process that helps partners reduce the total cost of test-delivery, retain the best talent and gain a competitive advantage. ProctorU has worked with hundreds of corporate partners all over the world, proctoring tests for human resources, financial services, pre-employment exams and IT certifications.
Over 86% of test-takers said they liked or loved the company’s customer service in a recent survey. ProctorU is dedicated to providing high quality service and consistently works with employers and test-takers to enhance and improve our offerings.
Safety and Security
ProctorU is dedicated to keeping test-taker data secure during all aspects of business. Test-taker directory information is collected over a secure connection and stored for internal use only. ProctorU are TRUSTe certified.
Credit card transactions are handled with encryption and online payment industry standards. ProctorU does not store credit card information. ProctorU partners with the payment gateway service provider, authorize.net, for all payments of service, which is fully compliant with Payment Card Industry Data Security Standards (PCI/DSS) to ensure payment card data security.
ProctorU can accommodate individuals with most disabilities through one-on-one coordination with the university. Because we use human proctors who can interact with the test-takers in real time, the service is able to make unique accommodations. We also have a working Voluntary Product Assessment Template, or VPAT, and are refining its service in regard to accessibility standards.
Data for the challenge questions come from a consumer database. The data are public records collected primarily from state and federal government sources. Federal and state laws place restrictions on the use of some of these sources, but some information is considered in the public domain, meaning anyone has access to it. Information in the public domain often includes telephone directory listings, professional registries, and classified ads.

Before your exam, make sure that you test your equipment. You must have a web camera and a microphone so that you and your proctor may communicate. Make sure you also have your photo ID ready, as well as a mirror.
What do I need to bring with me on the day of my exam?
You will need one form of photo ID (i.e. driver’s license, passport, school ID, etc.) to show to your proctor, any materials authorized for use by your instructor (scratch paper, pencil, etc.), and a reflective device, such as a mirror, to show your proctor what is in front of you. Check with your instructor or refer to your syllabus to determine what materials you will be allowed to use. Your proctor will also have that information available the day of your exam.

Will the proctor be able to access my personal computer files and documents without my knowledge?
Our proctors cannot access your computer files without your knowledge. With your permission, proctors have the ability to view the screen and utilize the mouse and keyboard as if they were sitting next to you. Once the exam starts, the proctor will monitor everything on the computer screen, but can no longer utilize the your mouse and keyboard. During the entire process, a chat box is running on your computer, and you can see what permissions the proctor currently has at any time. The entire chat session log is saved, including a permanent record of what actions the proctor took while accessing your computer.
