Scott McFarland has spent the last 25 years managing and leading venture-backed technology companies, and joined ProctorU in the summer of 2016. His main focus has been to bring teams together by creating actionable strategy plans, building enterprise value and producing results that have led to acquisitions by Computer Sciences Corporation, McKesson, Stanley Black and Decker and others.
As part of senior leadership at Emageon, McFarland led the operations division through significant growth period from 2001 to a public offering in 2005. More recently, McFarland was CEO at Awarix, General Manager at AeroScout, and COO at PerfectServe, a secure clinical communications system. McFarland holds a bachelor’s degree in finance from the University of Toledo.
Chief Strategy Officer / Founder
Jarrod is a co-founder of ProctorU and was the company's first proctor. He created the initial prototype for the service to fill a need for Andrew Jackson University, where he served as director of technology. He works out of ProctorU's Hoover, Ala., office where he coordinates the marketing and partnership aspects of the company. In 2013, Jarrod was named by the Birmingham Business Journal as one of the area's Top 40 People Under 40. When not grinding at ProctorU, Jarrod spends time with his two daughters, Maddie and Lizzie. He is a dedicated foodie, devoted Catholic and gourmet beer connoisseur. He studied computer science at the University of Florida and is a die-hard Gators fan.
Chief Technical Officer / Founder
Seizing the opportunity to work with a pioneering company, Matt brought his experience in management and technology at Best Buy’s Geek Squad to enhance the ProctorU team. At Geek Squad, he was in charge of home and business technology installation in Southern California. In 2008, he helped develop early components of ProctorU’s proctoring process and began working in the Alabama office as vice president of operations in early 2011.
In 2013, he transitioned to senior vice president of technology to head up a new department within the company. His new responsibilities include providing leadership and direction in all aspects of information technology to achieve strategic technological and business objectives. Matt graduated from the University of Florida and has a background in computer software engineering. He enjoys spending time with his family, making music and competing in triathlons.
Vice President of Business Development
Andrew teamed up with ProctorU in 2013 with over 15 years of experience in the education, information technology and aviation industries. He is responsible for ProctorU's domestic and international identity management and proctoring solutions. He grew up in Columbus, Ohio, obtained his degree in business management from Kent State University and earned advanced educational certificates with distinction from The University of London, University of Pennsylvania Wharton School and UC San Diego. When not winning over hearts and minds in the education industry, Andrew enjoys spending time with family and friends in Phoenix, Ariz.
Vice President of Business Development
Lynn was motivated to join ProctorU by the opportunity to develop innovative models and a desire to change the way education is being delivered. His tenure of more than 20 years across the higher education industry with firms like Pearson Custom, McGraw-Hill Solutions and Ginkgotree Digital has offered a strong foundation for growing revenue, building competitive teams and targeting the next generation of partnerships. After meeting the ProctorU team, and applying a proven philosophy that people make the difference in the success or failure of a company, the move to ProctorU was an easy decision. Based in Austin, Texas with his wife Laurie and their two children, Lynn’s emphasis on growth and innovative partnerships will serve as the primary focus in the years to come.
Vice President of Operations
Steve joined ProctorU in early 2014 to oversee the growing operations team. He has supervised numerous large projects as the general manager of Regional Homebuilding Company and worked as an investigator for the Escambia County Sheriff’s office in Florida. His sincere honesty and personal approach help him systemize the company’s operational elements, which include day-to-day proctoring functions, the quality control team, training efforts and the assessment services team. Steve graduated from Troy University in 1994 with a degree in criminal justice. He is an avid Florida Gators fan and has two teenage daughters, MaKenzie and Payton. On the weekends he can be found carpooling to volleyball matches, playing with his dog Princess and enjoying a round of golf.
Senior Vice President of Operations
John joined the ProctorU team in 2014. With over 20 years of experience in various industries, John has spearheaded client service strategies for companies including Costco, Pepsi, Sam's Club and most recently, Best Buy’s Geek Squad. He is passionate about improving the client experience at every touch point. John is a surfer, licensed helicopter pilot and Arizona State Sun Devil. He lives in Agoura Hills, Calif. with his wife, Lynn, and is a proud father to two daughters, Cassandra and Allison.
Vice President of Corporate Training, Travel, and Events
Trevor is a native of the San Francisco Bay Area and spent over 20 years in the hospitality industry working at hotels in California, Nevada and Oregon. His responsibilities revolved around operations management, human resources and training. Trevor works out of the Folsom office and is very excited to bring his experience to ProctorU to be a part of the team. Trevor and his wife, Jennifer, have two children. Their daughter in high school and their son is in college studying business. Trevor enjoys time with his family, fitness, softball and following his beloved San Francisco Giants.
